Try to shoot for skills that you will be using most of the time. if you skill into 3 different weapons, you can only use one at a time, however a core dropsuit skill will apply to most suits. Quoted For Truth.
... so from where you are now, I recommend the following in this order:
-- Shield Extension V ... Complex shield extenders will make your advanced med frame cal suit purr. -- SMG Op I ... it sounds like you like to use your sidearm effectively and the std is well worth it; alternatively, get a Toxin. -- Assault to III... long and painful, but get it done. Cheaper than basic frame and get 15% to your shield recharge & 6% to extender effectiveness.
From there:
-- Grenadier II for a Packed AV nade fit then III for M1s. -- Shield Upgrades III then IV for primary health. -- Armor Repair I ... you will need to fit a basic rep instead of mlitia for fitting purposes soon. -- Armor Plates I ... I personally like a basic plate and basic rep on caldari adv assault suits; alternatively, whatever you want to run in lwos -- Armor Upgrades III-IV for improved 'saved by the skin of your teeth' survivability after getting fluxed or getting hit by stray grenades.
After that man, there are lots of paths, but as the quote above says, try to stick to what is going to make what you are wearing better every time you wear it. SP in minmatar suits does you no good while wearing a caldari suit. I'd recommend pushing for AR proficiency and rapid reload skills to III before you even work to get into a proto assault suit. That way your Gek hits much harder and you can drop protostompers. I'd also recommend pushing your core skills // Core Upgrades, Electronics, Engineering, Shield Upgrades, Armor Upgrades, Biotics // all up to level IV before you try to get yourself into a proto suit. Proto suits are expensive and you need to be able to squeeze very good equipment and lots of HP / speed so that you have some survivability. As a guy who likes SMGs, you can also consider pushing into SMG proficiency III/IV early on so that even your standard sidearm ('Toxin' or the ISK variant) hits pretty hard.
You are also going to eventually want to train drop uplinks to at least level I so you can provide uplink support for a squad if needed (though not necessary if you're just doing pubs, it IS a great way to get WP fast if you place them correctly), as well as getting nanocircuitry up at LEAST far enough that you can carry K-2 nanohives.
Finally, at the risk of 'spreading SP' out and contradicting myself above, consider getting Handheld weapon upgrades V and Swarm Launcher Operation III. A CBR-7 swarm launcher with 3x complex damage mods packs a punch and gives you an option to counter vehicles rather than just wait for the match to end while getting run over continuously, and if you have the aforementioned SMG skills you can still be 'sort of' effective running and gunning (though you have **** all for tank). That is SEVERAL hundred thousand SP 'off spec' though, so only do that if you feel comfortable in your advanced suit. You may prefer to save those SP and use them toward your proto suit. |
